LARUEN WILSON, PRESIDENT

Laruen M. Wilson is the president of the board of the Krimson and Kreme Foundation. He is an educator with over two decades of experience, cultivating the minds of inner-city youth and training his peers to do the same.

During his career, Laruen has worked in both elementary and secondary education, serving as a mathematics coach, Dean of Students, and a data and testing coordinator. Additionally, Laruen has also developed and facilitated professional development trainings, passing on his vast knowledge to assist teachers with increasing student achievement.

In addition to being an educator, Laruen is a proponent of lifelong learning. He received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of California Riverside, and later returned to school to earn his Master of Arts Degree in Educational Technology.

THELONIUS ALEXANDER

Thelonius Alexander is the treasurer of the Krimson and Kreme Foundation. He is a business executive with over 25 years of experience in development, pre-production, entrepreneurship and corporate tax and finance in both the public and private sectors.

Thelonius has worked in music, film and sports entertainment, serving as a production accountant, producer, and post-production manager for several projects, including Tyler Perry’s hit TV series, “House of Payne.”

A former corporate tax manager for Lionsgate Entertainment, Inc., Thelonius has also worked and consulted with Nissan North America USA, Inc. and subsidiaries in various positions for over 20 years.

As a serial entrepreneur, Thelonius knows the power of ownership, and has operated several corporate franchises throughout the years, including multiple Shell gas stations, Athlete’s Foot stores, and currently, a Farmers Insurance agency.

When he isn’t running his enterprises or mentoring youth through the Krimson and Kreme Foundation, Thelonius serves on the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc., Western Region 2019 Tournament of Roses Development Committee. In his spare time, Thelonius also volunteers with the Los Angeles County Parks and Recreation department as a volunteer golf coach for the Western States Junior Golf Program.

VERNON R. YANCY, ESQ.

Vernon R. Yancy, Esq. is the secretary of the Krimson and Kreme Foundation. A Los Angeles native, Vernon has been admitted to practice law in the state of California, and is a licensed patent attorney with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.  

In 2009, Vernon founded his own practice, the Law Offices of Vernon R. Yancy, which specializes in several key areas, including bankruptcy, patents, trademarks and copyrights, estate planning, and business formation.

In addition to practicing law, the multi-hyphenate professional spent over a decade working for the Hughes Aircraft Company and the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power as an electrical engineer.

Despite his professional obligations, Vernon remains active in the community, mentoring and encouraging inner-city youth through the Krimson and Kreme Foundation and as an adjunct professor at Los Angeles Trade Technical College teaching Business Law.
